The City of Liberty Hill is pleased to announce a call for art to be showcased in an extraordinary non-juried Art Exhibit, entitled Whimsy & Wonder, on May 18 in Downtown Liberty Hill. The businesses of Liberty Hill will transform into art galleries, as Main Street becomes a wonderland that invokes your imagination and indulges your senses at every turn. This is the 2nd Downtown Art Exhibit for the City of Liberty Hill; however, this art event has been expanded to be larger and more diverse.
AGE RESTRICTION: Artists must be at least 18 years of age, or recommended by an art teacher. DEADLINE: Friday, March 1
Artists are welcome to submit works in various mediums: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, mixed media, bronze, wood, metal, digital, film, printmaking, textile, jewelry, installation, etc. This includes Heritage Artisans who work with leather, textile, hand looms and other such mediums.
Artists or art organizations on behalf of artists are welcome to submit their works for consideration.
SUBMISSION OPTIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Email the following information to Katie@lhindependent.com and copy email@example.com by March 1, 2019: Name, phone number and email address, Website, Brief written artist bio/artist statement (maximum of 300 words), 3-5 images of best work (format: jpeg; 300 dpi; Title_Name_Surname.jpg), Image information (title, medium, dimension, year, price) for each submission, Number of pieces you’d like to display in the Exhibit, Whether or not you will attend the exhibit to answer questions, or just display your art, Whether you would be willing to display your artwork in Liberty Hill through Aug. 1, or just for the evening of the event.
Art and contact information for selected artists will be displayed on the city’s event website through December 2019 at no charge.
Artists will be notified of results via email by March 8, and must confirm participation by March 11. Artists who do not respond will not be able to participate.Selected artists may display more pieces than the 3-5 submitted. The number of pieces will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Names of art and prices must be emailed to Katie@lhindependent.com by April 1 to be included in exhibit. Artists may sell their works to interested parties at the event, but payment must be handled by artist.
The City of Liberty Hill will not charge a fee or percentage of art sold at this exhibit.
